Oh come on. What's wrong with a happy ending?

I love happy endings. I can get sad if it's not the case. I read a story on the net (not WOTW related) that didn't had a happy ending, since the Hero of the story and his seven most dear friends were all killed in a final assault, and the bad guy lived on!

Were you dissapionted that Frodo reached Mount Doom and the Ring was destroyed?
Were you disapointed that Luke destroyed the Death Star at the end of Star Wars?
Were you dissapointed that they saved private Ryan at the end of Saving Private Ryan?
Were you dissapointed that the Nazi's got burned at the end of Raiders of the Lost ark?
Were you dissapointed that Dorothy got home at the end of the Wizard Of Oz? Actually I was dissapointed with that, I wanted her to stay in Oz and have a ball. So scrap that one. But the others... what say you?

I wasn't dissapointed at that scene in Raiders of the Lost Ark. The Special Effects were so good, I sometimes still get lightly paralysed of the impression...

strories are escapism. escape from life. especially fantasy films. so just because it don't happen in life, don't mean it can't happen in a story.
martians didn't attack london in 1899 but you've just read a book where they do.

No you don't have to like it. But if you go through life disliking everything, and not allowing yourself to escape, then your life will be a bitter one.

It sure is, Lonesome. I just paid € 108,- for it... but as long as I have it, I'm okay with it. And if ANYONE tries to steal my CE, I'll twist his/her wrists 180 degrees around and/or break his/her neck...

I think it may have been the gay version of 'Snow White and the seven Dwarfs, The Queens revenge'
