IGNFF hangs out on the set and pesters Cruise and Spielberg for all the secrets!<br /> <br />February 11, 2005 - It's just not every day that you get invited to the set of a film directed by Steven Spielberg and starring Tom Cruise. Sure, there are rumors, but they almost never come together. War of the Worlds has also been kept so secretive that almost anything we find out about the film is news to us. Spielberg is easily the most successful director of all time, but he's also been one of the most elusive, often hiding the details of his sets with a top secret status rivaling White House documents. While I was lucky enough to visit the set of Spielberg's last film, The Terminal, I only saw the sets and got nowhere near the actual man himself or a hot set.<br /><br /><br />But War of the Worlds was different. I only got the call yesterday, and word was that we were not only going to get to see Spielberg in action on set, but also get a sit-down interview. If things went well, we were going to talk to Cruise too! Now, at this point, you kind of have to take a step back. It all sounds a bit too good to be true. Sure, we'll go to set, but we'll probably just see Spielberg and Cruise from a distance. Maybe, at the most, they'll drop by for a few words, right?
