This has to be one of the greatest films of all time. Fantastic cast. Very realistic acting. Atmoshere you can taste. I love the Alien Ship that harbours the Alien eggs. The way that they are not realted, just past victims and it is their distress signal that lures the humans. Its a shame that we didn't discover more about this alien culture in Aliens. In fact they are completely forgoten about in the sequal. The colonists have set up on a planet with a huge alien spacecraft, complete with fossilised pilot, but don't seem to have sent word to Earth about it.
I like Aliens though, its a good thrill ride of a film, different to Alien. 3 and 4 were just awful.

I loved the first 2. They were classics.
I'm ok with 3 and 4, I like them, but they are not as good...

I have the dark horse comics and you do learn a lot more about the fossilized Aliens, they are not to be trusted you also find out what happens to Newt (the comics came out long before Alien 3 was made) Newt and Hicks survived, although Newt was living in a mental Asylum and Hicks was on the run. they should have made the film from the comics

There was a script for Alein 3 that had Newt and Hicks in it, but it was scrapped and they went with the script we know. You can get hold of the origional script on the net I think.
Tell us more about the untrustworthy aliens?

I hated Alien 3 when I first saw it, but after a couple of showings it kind of grew on me (no pun intended)...
It's very moody and dark...I believe the director was only in his 20's when it was made...that's pretty good for someone so young.
I think the main problem was because it followed Aliens...with lots of the critters running around.
Then we were back to just one.
Loz ...you might like to know that there was an actor from Liverpool in it.
His name is Carl Chase...and he can be seen playing in a band in the Grapes pub in Mathew street quite often.

Should be a good battle: an ox-like alien vs. Martian Fighting Machine.
The Tempest is an advanced assault vehicle, which carries two heavy Heat-Rays and a Canister Launcher.

Yeah I know him. He auditioned for my play last year at the Everyman. He didn't get the part.

Yeah I know he was. Paul McGann is in Alien 3 too and he's a Scouser. With two Scoucers on that prison planet that Alien shouldn't have stood a chance.
