Paramount Pictures' War of the Worlds, directed by Steven Spielberg and starring Tom Cruise, earned an estimated $21.5 million on its third day to push its domestic total to $57.2 million. The sci-fi thriller, budgeted at $132 million, is playing in 3,908 theaters.

I saw it on Friday and there wasn't a seat left.
today it was about two thirds full. I noticed that a lot of kids seemed restless during the film.

Try researching the great robberies of history to see how much money THEY made in a single day! The analogy is an appropriate one, by the way. I paid $4.75 to see it yesterday, and I think I was robbed. I won't go to see it again, and doubt if I'll even get it on video or DVD when it comes out.

Cinema was about 3/4 full on Saturday in plymouth.
I personally loved the film and so did my gf, who had a basic knowledge of WOTW, so it was good to hear her views, most of which were very positive. We both felt it could have done with another 10 minutes of story at the start ...

Took my mum 66 and nephew 17 and it blew them away. My mum is a fan of the book, album, and 53 movie. She saw my box set yesterday and ran out to buy her own.

I take it you left the theatre way before the end, and asked for your money back.
