They gave you grief about it? The images are still up on the site and in the other forum.
EDIT: OOps! I didn't notice that they blurred the FM's in the pictures now. Somebody must have lost their job!

According to Paramount, they are waiting for Gamelofts server to update and the pics will be removed from their too. The pics will come back at a later date...
But no site or forum should be displaying them.

Give it up Paramount, the cat's out of the bag!
Here's a description of what it looked like to me for those desiring spoilage. Mind you, the game graphics are only about on the level of an 8-bit Nintendo and you only see the tripod in profile...but:
The "Hood" is the largest feature. It looks like a cross between a flying saucer and a bicycle helmet (It projects out towards the back.) There's some kind of rune-ish details running around the rim and something red and glowing hanging down slightly from the back. the lights we've all seen are just below the rim. Underneath the lights is where the tentacles appear to project. (They are depicted flailing and in one screenshot picking up a schoolbus.)
The "Hood" rests on a thick neck-like structure that projects from a platform style base. Those rectangular structures that were visible in the ferry attack hang off the front. Some people have called them "Claws" but that doesn't appear to be the case. (I suspect it's where they stash people.)
The legs have a fluid tentacle feel. They end in two suction cup "Toes". (It may be more and just not visible in the angle shown) The two front legs are shorter and bend once, while the back leg is longer and bends twice.
Overall I think it looks okay. It's not exactly faithful to the book (Wells described everything as being based around ball socket joints) and like most movies these days, there's bit of an obvious ALIEN influence...but it comes closer to how I'd imagine a tripod than the Pendragon or Asylum versions. In a way, it also seems to be a bit of an homage to the Martian viewed in the George pal versionc.

In one of the trailers latest I think you see a shape coming out of the fire with two onlookers and it matches the shape in the game picks only frontal. Reminds me of alien queen from the side. quite bird like as well I suppose.

They look very big. Not altogether unlike the League of Extraordinary Gentlemen ones in shape.

Are these the critters you saw in the video game image?
In One of the games shots you can see unblered yellow which I'm assuming is
the front of the tripod. Do these pics and sketches match the beast you
saw in the video game ad?

The photo is consistent, but the drawings aren't quite there. The legs are more tentacle-ish with the back leg being longer and double jointed. (Think flexible hoses) The tentacles are smaller. The "Base" is longer, the "Hood" projects off a thick neck and is larger and less organic looking.

I'd say very similar. They were black. with coloured lights around the head. They seemed to have the squat look. but the head looks the same shape. getting bigger from front to back. they look great by the way. but, Lonesomes are better.

I see this shot of something in flames not sure what it is.
but it looks consistant with this drawing.
Its funny. Its like the fact that paramont is trying to hide these critters that makes me search for them more. The drawings shown earlier show organic looking tripods. Is the actual tripods more mecanical?
Any idea where we might find pics of the tripods?

I think they must be early designs and they have become slightly less organic but with a very organic fluidity to movement etc...
The picture of fire, looks like a bit when the Tripods get hit with missiles, but walk out unscathed.

Those pictures weren't done by someone working on the movie, just a talented guy trying reconstruct things from what he'd seen in trailers.

I got the clip working. The program Quicktime is needed.
The Tempest is an advanced assault vehicle, which carries two heavy Heat-Rays and a Canister Launcher.

I believe the smaller one is based on that brief clip where something moves past the window behind Dakota. (Another one of those Pal homages.) I hope the real thing looks less ALIEN-ish. (I like the original, but i'm getting burned out on HR Giger knockoffs.

The thing that moves past the window is probably a handling machine. And it is gigantic, the art picture has a man stood next to it to show scale surely?
