I'm reading the book again! C'mon you are too! And i'm at the point where the martian is pulling itself out of the cylinder. Wells describes "the Gorgon groups of tenicles". Can anyone tell me what this means? I've never thought about it before.
Also can anyone direct me thier favourite illustration of the martians. Have you had a go Lonesome?

Much obliged chaps :alien5:

The painting was done about 15 years ago and is not very accurate to wells' description, but I think I'm a bit closer with the model.

Cheers Mr Crowe. The model is spot on. It is definately easier to picture the martians now. I think you've caught it exactly. It's a wonder your model hasn't been snapped up by a merchandising company and made you a fortune. Ever thought of setting up your own?

I've just finished reading the book for the upteenth time and isn't it pure quality?
