Just wondering if anybody here has a old WOTW
vinyl LP kicking around. I have a copy somewhere
in the basement, but I lost track of it after buying
the more recent CD.

I don't want to buy the album -- what I really need
is a scan of the WOTW logo so I can convert it to
line-art for a possible fansite. I'm finding the CD
print a little too small and pixelated, and I'm hoping
the LP is clearer.

If someone can scan in the logo at 300dpi or better,
and e-mail a JPG to my Gmail account, I'd be
much obliged.

How to make a tripod:
1. Take a small wooden toy wheel (cheap in hobby stores)
2. Take three nails.
3. Figure the rest out yourself.
Pretty crazy.

I will have to ask as to what you are planning on doing with the Jeff Wayne images. You are aware that 1/ you need permission to use them as they belong to Jeff Wayne Music & Ollie Record Productions and 2/ without permission they will be removed.

H_C

Are they so concerned about
how fans use their imagery that I should be worried about getting
legal notice concerning my avatar?

Not only would it be particularly odd for a company to attack a
fan's use of copyrighted imagery, espcially as it relates to the
promotion of same, but if a person is commenting upon or critiquing
a copyrighted work, 'fair use' principles usually apply. That is to say,
you can reproduce parts of the work to achieve your purposes.

I would think, as far as my stated purpose goes (i.e. reproducing
an album cover for the sake of a fan-site) would fall into this category.

Anyway, before this turns into a legal-eagle thread, allow me to
point out that, at this point in time, I have only scanned in a few
images and a logo for my own enjoyment.

I appreciate the advice, and the passionate (though creepy) support
of Mr. Wayne and his works, but you'll forgive me for saying that
I feel a little criticized for something I haven't even done.

Flaming Poultice, I don't represent Jeff Wayne Music or Ollie, but in the past I have been told to remove images from my site that I thought were fair to use (but they weren't!). As far I am concerned your avatar causes no issues to me, but i would appreciate you not posting up any full size images or anything that you have changed concerning the artwork.

I am not having a go at you or attacking you, if its all for your own enjoyment then no one can stop that. I am just requesting that I don't have to start amending posts and making apologies to companies who represent Jeff Wayne. I myself have been annoyed on how strict there are sometimes, but I understand why and have started to have a positive relationship with them now, where they trust me enough to send me material first, that I can post on my site for everyone.

Please don't take it personally and whatever you do for your own enjoyment is your business.

Thanks...
