Hey everyone,

I just read this on www.veronica.nl:

Following the release of the dvd of the movie 'War Of The Worlds' with Tom Cruise, Radio Veronica will be broadcasting after 27 years on Friday November 18 the Dutch Version of Jeff Waynes 'War Of The Worlds'

This version has been translated and produced in 1978 by Radio Veronica DJ Bart van Leeuwen. Jan van Veen is the Journalist of the story, Patricia Paay, Willem Duyn en Peter Koelewijn are the additional voices.
Jeff Wayne wrote the music by the original story by H.G. Wells in 1978, and granted permission to Bart van Leeuwen and producer Ad Bouman to use his music for the Dutch version.

After a long trial of searching, the tapes on which the Dutch ‘War Of The Worlds’ were recorded were rediscovered. Due to the many requests, the Dutch version will be broadcasted on Friday November 18 from 9.00 PM on Radio Veronica.

I think I will use the computer to do that. I can listen to the radio while being online (must stay on the site though), and use Nero Sound Tracks to record it...

This is interesting. Obviously you listen to the Richard Burton/English speaking version.
Do you think you will prefer it in Dutch? :-k
Are there bits of the English version that you find hard to understand?

I understood nearly everything, so I'm anxious how it will sound in Dutch.
Beside I have the English spoken album several times! 3 x on an Album (LP) 2 x on a CD (one of which being the Collector's Edition)

And I thought I was the only obsessed one
I've got the original version on cassette and on CD
The 1995 Sony re-release on CD
The 2005 Collector's edition on CD
The Highlights on Cassette and on CD
and The ULLAdubULLA Remix on CD

And my Brother has the original first press of the LP. probably not worth much though, there are so many of them about.

The other CD album is also the 1995 re-release from Sony. I liked two of the four Bonus Tracks there.

I'm so obssessed I have all of the above, except highlights on cassette. And I bought the Playstation Game and the PC game before I had a Playstation or a PC. But I did listen to the music on them. Eventually I got to play the actual games.
I only like two of the extra trax on the 95 rerelease. Spirit of Man and forever Autumn, the other to grate on me.

I liked Dark Autumn Dub, and the Remix of the Eve of the War.
