Among my other sci fi interests I read the Star Wars novels. The book I am reading now is set some 25 or so years after the original movies and the Star Wars galaxy is at war with a race of new invaders who use biotechnology. This race had succeeded in conquering the capital planet of Coruscant. A few books after this happened (and this is the one im reading at the moment) Luke Skywalker and friends have had to go on a mission to the conquered world and have found the place to be...... 1898 London
Well not quite 
but the description is more or less a tribute to WOTW, a mysterious plant growth is overunning the planet, survivors are trying to make new settlements underground as well as the aliens patrolling and building all their stuff, its a really cool literary nod i think :afro:
