When you listen to the album you can't help but notice that there are several different sounding Ullas from the Martians. The first lot are sort of battlecrys. Then we have the one just after the Thunder Child, which ends Eve of the war. And That is very triumphant in its sound and prolonged.
Then just before Spirit of Man begins we have the fighting machine that sprays the steam, and that gives of an almost singery, melodius, almost pleasured, Ulla. And of course the ones during Dead London, Haunting and dieing.
I wonder if these same Ullas will be used in the film. Will the more melodius one work in the film? Its a great moment in the album but in film????

Yes I'm sure they will use the same crys for the film, why change them?, the meaning is the same whether it's the album or film.

I'm just thinking of that more melodius one which is actually used as an intro to Spirit of Man. It's like the songs themselves, I'm betting that they won't be in the film.

It's a good point Loz, They might just use the music as backing with no lyrics. I don't know which would be best :?

And you are right, these Emoticons aren't as good as the old ones.

 Oh' and by the way Loz, I don't know if you've noticed but someone's sneezed on your avatar

I expect that the machines calling will differ from the one's heard on the album, infact I don't think we will hear any of the albums actual recordings of 'Ulla', they will be a new composition.

The 'Ulla' heard in the album is to accompany the musicla score, making as you point out the voice to be more musical. As the CGI film is not a full blown 'musical' they would not require the voice to be of a musical nature.

Oh' so the CGI isn't a musical version?, I wasn't aware of that.
That's going to make a big difference I would have thought.

This is what I have from Jeff Wayne Music

'The film will stay true to the HG Wells' novel, being set in Victorian England and will of course make good use of Jeff's music!'

This is what I thought guys and its the best way to go. It's a horror story and to have people dancing about singing and for it to be none stop music wouldn't work. This has to be something new, but with a score using as much of the album as possible.

Do you recognize the Avatar Lonesome? You being old like me you might?

The emoticon with the quivering lip freaks me out!

Bang on. From Late Pertwee, Early Baker era. It came on for the closing credits and scared the sh*t out of me.
