Hey Everyone

I basically wanna ask what the topic title is. Is there any news or forthcoming events about this film? Its been kept in the dark a lot.

Sam

dunno, the thing is this is in a lot less of an advanced stage than the two other movies so i dont think theres a great deal of confirmed knowledge about it. plenty to speculate about though....

Isnt it meant to be released in 2005?

Im pretty sure that Ive seen on a few websites that the realease date is 2007.
Other than that its speculation time. I haven't seen any other news on this for ages.

You probably thought 2005 because thats when it was meant to be, Im not even sure that it is 2007, I saw it a website some where or press release, but that still doesnt make it so. I would say he is gonna do something. I reckon we will more than likely see or hear something after the two films come out, so he can maximise on the publicity, that what I would do.

The movie is due to hit theatres in 2007..
I'm reliably informed that work has begun on it already...

Really looking forward for this version though.... But one other thing that would be cool is if someone like Peter Jackson could do a "proper" book-faithful version! And remember I said "like" Peter Jackson. I think he is great doing films that interests him, but I'm not sure he would do so well if the story isn't near his heart, if you know what I mean...

The confusion that lies between 2005 & 2007 is simple. The albums re-launch is this year (2005) along wityh other spectacular projects around The War Of The Worlds by Jeff Wayne. The long awaited movie will not be seen until 2007, hench the reason why there is not much out their in the way of information about the film.

Eh up Nerf, fancy meeting you here :D

H_C

I hope this is going to be the ulimate WOTH!!! For me, I think it's going to be!!! I always wanted a movie with the tripods of the musical! And together with the music it has to be a slammer for the fans!!!

It's going to be released in 2007?! :(

I totally agree, i am very excited about the two movies but the thought of a really well animated version with that music as a backdrop really does make my tastebuds tingle!!!

I've wanted to see a movie version of the album ever since I first heard it and saw the promo clip for it on the telly.

One of the most exciting things to happen with the Wayne version THIS year will apparently be a 6-disc box set, which will include a DVD of the making of the album. To make this perfect they should include the original CBS Records video clip(s) from the late 1970s too. It would be too bad if Sony decided not to include them on this new set because they somehow thought that they were now too "old hat"!

The songs wouldn't work though. Just the music please. We don't want the Artillary Man warbling away. Even though they are fantastic songs and help make the album. Lets hope David Essex is doing the voice though.

I was listening to it again last night. It really is a wonderful recording.Even though there are some subtle changes to the storyline, the esense of the story has remained intact and it would be great if Jeff could get some of the original cast onboard.I agree with your comment Loz about having no singing just the music but maybe other people will differ with our opinions.Maybe there could be room for some aspect of song within the film.2007.......that seems so far away doesn't it?I turn to Pendragon to comfort me til then. For myself,i eagerly await Mr Waynes and Mr Hines offerings but openly admit that i have not much time for Paramounts as entertaining as i'm sure it will no doubt be.Two out of three ain't bad!!!!(please, no Meat Loaf jokes) :)

I'm with you on all of that. We've lost Burton and Phil Lynott though. Judy Covington is a made up character. So it only leaves Essex.

i think it is best that not much has been revealed. that way we arent expecting to much and when it is finally released we will all be blown away by the greatness of this film, its all very mysterious and that adds to the films appeal.
