Anyone remeber this classic film? Overpopulation, pollution and the demise of the food chain, lead to the Soilent corporation, who produce food bars, into using the dead as a food sorce.

Yes I remember it and they made a reference to it in an episode of the Simpsons, I wonder how many people got it. :D

With 'remake fever' gripping Hollywood, I wonder why this one hasn't been touched yet. Maybe because euthanasia is a 'hot button' topic in contemporary American society & politics?
Not that I'd want a remake; the original is quite moving on its own. But in the right hands, a new version just might work.

Oh, Futurama made a Soylent Green reference in one episode, too. Soylent Chow, a dog food whose logo was a happy puppy surrounded by a recycling symbol. (In the US, the recycling symbol is a triangle with arrows on each of the triangle's sides, indicating a loop of sorts. Is it the same worldwide? I've never thought about it until making this post.) Anyway, I had to explain to those with whom I was watching the episode why I was laughing so hard at the Soylent Chow logo. They didn't think it was funny.

Insert witty, yet philosophical remark here...

I've not seen that Futurama episode :-k and yes I think the triangle of arrows is a world-wide logo for recycling.
