Every saturday, during the season, I couldn't wait for it to begin. After the Football results and then it was on. That music, Daleks, Cybermen, Zygons, Sontarons, K9, Jelly Babies, Jon Pertwee, and later Tom Baker, the Tardis. It went everywhere, through time and space. Their is and has been no other show with such scope and potential.
I'm not a fan of Chris Eccleston's take on the role, and think the new series was classic dumbing down, fast food fodder, but it still had its moments.
K9 returns next season, exactly as he was with a new actor as the renagade Time Lord. Looking more like the Doctor should and probably played more like the Doctor should.
I used to hide behind the chair when the daleks exploded onto the screan, screaming, exterminate in their maniacal, unearthly, electronic voices.
If it continues, then I hope I get a chance to write for it.

I hated K9, as did Tom Baker.

Doctor WHO is a British Institution...Brilliant
I once had the luck to meet Tom Baker when he was Dr WHO...He was in a bar talking to Douglas Adams...How good is that?

I haven't met him. He's a Scouser like me, believe it or not, he worked on his accent obviously, unlike me la.

I saw him do a talk once, read bits of his autobiography out. Well he didn't read it just recounted it. He was great. I love him. He hates himself.

Well, K9 is back in the next series, so you'll get to hate him all over again.
Sarah Jane Smith is returning as well, as are the Cybermen.

(slowly cletches fist) "Excellent."

I've got a toy K9 which speaks and has friction wheels for movement. I got him with my Tom Baker Doctor Who toy. Complete with Jelly Babies, sonic screw driver and origional costume. He also speaks.
I loved K9 and was quite depressed when they got rid of him! :a010:
