Lonesome Crow wrote: So if you do get The Churchill finished please do post it here, I'll be watching this space. Will do! It's just a matter of finding some spare time to do so. My biggest problem at this stage (before I mate the fore & aft sections together) is that I want to add an interior, since there are so many windows. If I just made the windows opaque, I'd save myself a large load of work! This model is going to be with its cargo bay doors closed, by the way. I just wanted a neat shuttle that was relatively easy to build & store. If I wanted to try to make the fully extended solar panels (or more likely, heat radiators), I'd have to do a LOT more work and would not know where (nor how) to store the thing. Plus, that pesky force of gravity would likely cause the panels to sag. (I might try an 'extended panel' version in a smaller scale, though, like 1/288. Half the size, and if I do it right, not as heavy... less sagging!)

Lonesome Crow wrote: I take it you're still going with the 6 windows on top, as seen in the interior shots. Yes, indeed. In fact, I mentioned that in one of the photos I originally posted on the first page of this thread. I had them drawn in place, but not actually cut out. Come to think of it, I STILL haven't cut them out... I was working on some of the aft details when I last posted anything/worked on the model. There just never seems to be enough time in a day...

Sigh. Now you've done it. I would be going to bed, or reading (an actual book, not a monitor), or something, but instead, I'm going to go cut out those windows. If I don't, I'll lie awake thinking 'I should really get those windows cut out.'(Of course, I really should be thinking along the lines of 'I should really clean out the garage tomorrow,' but I doubt that'll happen! )

Sigh... I screwed up those six topside windows, by making them too big. I put the project aside for a time (a long time, I guess), before attempting to make repairs. Sigh. (I'll get to this again someday, and shall try to post more pics when doing so is warranted.)

Finished?! Moved on?! sigh... I know all things do change, but I do hope that the forum stays up, for posterity's sake. There's a wealth of great information & discussion here that's too valuable to be lost to the ether. As soon as time allows (and I can find my lost USB cable for my camera), I'll try to at least get the construction of the Churchill finished enough to post more pics. Painting may take a little longer. On the other hand, I am currently working on a WotW diorama based on the 'US Marines versus the Martians' battle from the 1950's film; since this is a WotW forum, I'll be trying to get that one done first! Oh, for the record, I almost forgot my password, too.
