I'm a big fan of the origional series up until Tom Baker left that is and then it went to hell.

I was looking forward to the new but dispaired at the casting of Eccleston as the Doctor. He really doesn't work for me. Its also all a bit fast food editing for me.
I'm looking forward to the new Doctor and seeing if his take on the character is better.

I must admit, I never really been a Who fan, but I do like Eccleston! I have watched odd episodes of the new series and actually liked them...

Yeah that's the thing if you are not a fan of the old irts easier to accept Eccleston. For me its hard because he has a norther accent. Eight Doctors before him were nuetral.
He's also infactuated with his assistant, which has never been before and each episode has been a case of where shall I take her next.
I'm a big fan of the old stuff. Just watched a DVD full of what's left of very early missing stories. £ episodes of Dalek Master Plan are all that remain, but at least I've seen them now. fantastic stuff.

For anybody not from 'Loz World' this means "3 episodes"

I like Eccleston as the new Doctor and have seen all this series. what I do miss is the cliffhanger that used to end every episode. :a009:

I think C. Eccleston is great as the Doctor , and I've been a fan since W.Hartnell !!!

Although I must admit Tom Baker IS the Doctor for me.(From Liverpool too eh LOZ)

As for having a Northern accent ...Billie Piper did mention that in an episode... To which the Doctor replied "All Planets have a North"

BRILLIANT!

I hated that line. How will they explain the new doctor being Scotish or will he have to stick to northern now they have made a thing of it?

The thing about Dr Who is not to take it too seriously

Thats because the Camelion circuit broke in episode one. and it can't change. And I don't take it seriously, how can I when its production values were so bad and even now are dodgy at best.
But I like it the way I like it and they aint making it the way I like it.

I'll be writing it in a few years and then I'll take you all on the trip of a lifetime. :a112:

The budget was so small in fact that it was smaller on the outside than it was on the inside.

Have you ever sent anything into the BBC, TV or Radio?

Yeah, I wrote a thing callewd Drug Runners which was on Bravo Channel.
And I'm waiting to see if my Radio proposal is going to be picked up in August. I've only been writing professionally for 3 years. In that time I've had two plays produced at major theatres, had one tv credit with drug runners, had a play published and believe it or not I'm one of Liverpool's Hip One Hundred in a recent magazine article. Tee Hee!

:a103: Excellent =D> I get Bravo, I'll have to look out for 'Drug Runners' and what's the radio play called? I listen to a lot of BBC Radio 7. might it be on there?
and by the way, I own the copyright on that blush

Hey Loz...They've already had a (very) Scottish Doctor...No prpblems with accents there. I do hope you write for Dr Who in the future...that would be great.

Paul McGann(spelling?) was from Liverpool too.

I'm from the city centre.

I saw that article about Liverpools Hip 100...I didn't know you then, wish I'd have kept it now.

There's some very talented people on this board...It's a pleasure to associate with you all.

Well thankyou very much.

Your right two Scouse doctors but they didn't play him Scouse. And of course McCoy was Scotish, but posh Scotish. Because they've mentioned his accent in the new series a few times, instead of just ignoring it, it will seem silly that it will change when he regenerates.

That Hip 100 was a bit embarressing really, I got a lot of ribbing for it from my mates. But its all helful with the career.

Okay, it first aired in late November 2003, it has been repeated but I don't know if they will show it again. Here is a link to some bumf on it - http://www.conkerworks.com/news.asp?na=1

Forgot about you owning the copywrite on the blush, sorry.

As for the Radio play i won't know until August whether or not it has a green light. But its working title is Tin Man. Breifly its about a little girl whos trgic life has pushed her to shut out her emotions. She makes from scrap the Tin Man from the wizard of Oz and he comes to life and takes her on a forced journey of self discovery. It a dark fairytale.

Don't forget you can by my published play, Urban Legend from Oberon Books and Tesco.com have it. :a112: :a112: :a112: :a112:

Hi Loz...Listen mate, if you're going to write for Doctor Who in the future, you'd better start brushing up on your spelling!!!

Oh I know its awful beyond belief. But my trusty computer usually fixes all that for me. But there is no autocorrect or spell checker here. I've usually got my baby on my knee when I log on here and its difficult to type. I see the mistakes but often don't have time to correct them.

I'm running a writing workshop at the Liverpool Everyman from 5pm on June 18th. If you can get a place and are interested in writing, your more than welcome. Just contact

Thanks for the invite Loz, I'm more intrested in Drawing than writing...but with saying that I do drink in the Everyman bar(fairly regularly) at weekends. We'll have to get together sometime for a pint and a chat about War of the Worlds , Doctor Who and other such escapist nonsense!

Good luck with it though.

We don't mention Loz's spelling, I've been waiting for someone to ask what a "Bah Bah black Sheap" is, I didn't like to ask.

And Loz if you ever want an Illustrator for one of your book there are a couple here who wouldn't mind having a go :a112: :a112:

A Sheap is a Sheep that has a in place of an e. They are very rare and can kill crows with one bight of their electric, seven sided, pink, triangular chocolate, dinosaur, mouths.
