Has anyone have pics of the webs in that movie? By the way, the spiders used in that movie are very harmless, just a species of spider who lives socially in a nest with more than 300 spiders. I believe that most orb-webs are more square-;ike instead of representing an orb. I liked the movie (because of the spiders). The only spider that is definitely fake are the tarantulas representing the General and the Queen. That spider has the size of a tarantula, can jump and has the eyes of Jumping Spiders, can weave webs like all Orb- Sheet- and Scaffoldwebweavers, and it's venom is way more lethal than the Australian Sydney Funnel-Web Spider. I never have seen such a spider like the 'Super Spider' in real.

Have you ever read the Horror book Spiders and the Sequal The Web?

Actually no, the only books I have of spiders are about the animal itself and the different spieces. One of those books is the Spider Guide by Michael J. Roberts.

So all the soldier spiders are in reality harmless?

That's true. An expert in handling spiders worked with the animals when the movie was being produced. Everything else are simply special effects.

I didn't like Arrachnaphobia all that much be cause I'd read the horror novel Spiders and the sequal The Web.

Mutated spiders become colony spiders, the same way ants do. Instead of a queen there is a huge albino king spider, but you don't get to know about him till the end. Anyway they live under ground and come up at night at first then day and devour people. In the first book they are mostly big black spiders, that are very hard to kill, with movable mouth parts which eat you there and then. There are also smaller brown ones that have the older type of spider mouth which can only suck, in the sequal they come more numerous. And tend to drag people down holes, once they have wrapped them up, to turn their insides into a soup they can suck.

Sounds like there are fragments of Eight Legged Freaks, another spider movie, are there from what you said, Loz. In ELF there were people spun in cocoons and being drained too. The citizens of the village became victims of a tarantula, and several Orb Weavers, Spitting, Jumping and Trap Door Spiders.

I liked Eight Legged Freaks. It was comical.

I haven't read those books. Are they good?

Time for that rolled up Newspaper again!....
Seriously though I bought the video of Eight legged freaks...I thought it was great. A black comedy.
One of my favourite scenes is where the spider comes up from behind the chair...

That was fun too. The Jumping Spider trying to feast on the moose-head was one of the funniest I ever saw.

Classic. They keep switching from shots of a big house spider to a tarantula.

Watching all those people running to their cars, messing with their keys and then being grabbed by a Trap Door Spider. I found the Spitting Spider, shaking its head after a collision with the van he was on top of it and another car very funny too.
