What is for you the most horrific scene from the movie Jaws, where Amity has to deal with a Great White Shark? For me is the scene that Quint, that fisherman who wanted 10.000 bucks for the shark got eaten. Not that I'll dive away when I see it, but I get goosebumps as I watch that scene, and my heart is pounding faster and harder. The gore moment in that scene is that when the shark bites Quint for the last time before it drags him into the sea, blood begins to spout from his mouth.

Hard to pick one really. The head popping out of the wrecked boat used to make me4 jump everytime. But Quint's demise is truely gory. In the book it is Hooper who gets gobbled up and Quint survives. I always wondered why Speilberg changed that. Maybe because Hooper was more cuddly.

Wrong, in the end of the book Quint drowns as his foot got tangled up in the ropes for the barrels. You were right about Hooper being killed by the shark though...

The most horrific scene is when he blows up the shark. Poor little bugger

True, but the shark fed on some visitors.

I read it when I was about nine or ten. Had a false memory of Quint surviving instead of Hooper. But they both go eh? Great book. The shark doesn't get killed in the book. Just swims away. At least that's what I remember.

No, the shark drowns eventually in the end, taking Quint with it. In the movie the shark gets blown to bits, 'cause Brody made a direct hit with a shot from his pistol on an oxygen tank, which the shark had in its beak.
"Smile you sun of a B*TCH!" was the famous quote in that scene.

That's right I remember the lines about the big fish going down and down and out of sight.

I watched the movie several times. I found the scene with the man in the rowing boat being attacked also kind of gory, since you watch at a point one of the poor guy's legs sinking to the bottom of the sea.
