Great horror flick with fantastic actors and a great director. Very spooky and very new at the time. The chartacter of the hotel is very prominent and overbearing. I love it. Blood whooshing down the corridors.

I agree. Have you seen the TV series? Closer to the book but not as good as the picture.

You always have the feeling that Jack Nicholson is just on the edge of insanity, and I don't mean just in this film, I mean in real life

The girl in that room maimed him with an axe...

The Tempest is an advanced assault vehicle, which carries two heavy Heat-Rays and a Canister Launcher.

I agree a very good film, then I am partial to Jack Nicholson and Stanley Kubrick.

Unlike Pet Cemetery the Shining retained many of the book elements. There is nothing worse than reading the book and finding the film lacking or off on a completely different tangent.
