I don't understand a thing of that site. Do we have a spammer here or haven't we?

:? I have no idea, I'm not even trying the links, :-k I don't think anything can infect a PC that way but I'm not taking the risk. [-X My motto is "If you don't know what it is, stay away from it" 8)

I have been to the website. Seems safe. But nothing relating to War Of The Worlds.

Looks like access to games servers. They have posted in the fun and games section, so I will let this one go.... (must be christmas!)

Your not because mine was McAfree and now I've got this irritating trojan.

It got through and then McAfree couldn't find it. i've since downloaded the frre Blueyonder one andused that for a bit but it couldn't get rid, so now I'm using Avast which is also free and recomended on News 24 as the best there is. its found it but it keeps coming back. Apperently i have to o into the registry and get it from there and then do a scn in safe mode, but its too complicated for my frazzled brain to cope with. so i'll take it into a shop. Which will hurt my wallet!!!!

Correct. I have a hardware firewall in my router and that won't stop everything, neither will the really expensive cisco ones. But we are 99% safe with our normal software and hardware ones, but things still get through..... you have been warned!

P.S. I am a systems engineer with about 10 years experience, so trust me.... be careful!!!!

If I had your PC in front of me, then I could probably have a good go at removing your problems.

Some tips...

On a working PC, download the personal edition of www.lavasoftusa.com then get that on the infected PC. Boot into safe mode (press F8 a few times before the PC boots into windows). Run lavasoft Adaware, see what happens. Get your virus definitions up to date, again download them from a working PC and get them on the infected one.

Go to control panel, remove anything you know is not yours, inc search bars, buddies and other nonsense. Clear all your temp files (if you use Internet Explorer go to tools and internet options - delete files).

Check on google for the trojan or virus's you have, often you can find removal instructions.

When all else fails, back up your data..... and reload!

Good luck
