In this modern retelling of H.G. Wells' classic sci-fi horror, civilization is laid to ruin when a super race of aliens invades Earth. In a blink of an eye, massive "walkers" cover the planet, annihilating all in their path. As cities crumble and human flesh is ripped form the bone, one man struggles to find the one weapon that will turn the tide for mankind.

CAST: C. THOMAS HOWELL (THE HILLSIDE STRANGLER and E.T.), PETER GREENE (PULP FICTION and THE MASK), ANDREW LAUER (SCREAMERS and UNRAVELLED), RHETT GILES (WAY OF THE VAMPIRE, JOLLY ROGER), and JAKE BUSEY (THE FRIGHTENERS, IDENTITY)

Washington destroyed... Man, do I like that poster? :D

Longer from the original than Spielberg it seems(quadropods, modern time, abnormal size). It is mentioned that the humans are searching for a new weapon- which normally means they will. "Flesh ripped from the bone" indicates its a splatter.

I doubt that they are allowed to have that title, though. Paramount and the SSM are everywhere.

It seems to be out now :)

The films undergone a name change - 'INVASION' - sly eh!, call it WOTW because it can be easily bought up in a search engine, get everyone to see what its based on then change the title.

Actually, there are crabs as large as that one in Japan...
Of course, thats because everything is better in Japan! :D

I dont get it, why do they invade earth if they dont need to compensate for something? I mean, they have FOUR of them, and theyre HUGE! All wars are based on compensation, not religion.

Interesting. I noted that the site is still in construction (no links active for trailer, etc.) I also noted the DVD release date of June 28th. Coincidence? Yah right.

From the blurb, it appears to be a remake of WotW more along the ID4 lines (in which the humans do the winning), but with more Wells-faithful foes on legs (three sets of paired legs, from the little pic on the site)

egh, might turn out to be a cousin of WotW -- more faithful in some aspects, less so in others.

Just to keep everyone up to date on marine biology, it's common knowledge that the Japanese spider crab's average legspan is from 11-13'. There HAVE been reports of spider crabs who legspans were literally twice as wide, but I don't know if they've been confirmed.
