Hello all!

I'm ClaireBear... CB to most!

Was invited here by our kind Admin Lee (Ullo Lee! ) when our paths crossed on another forum... actually his insistant posting of a link to his website kinda turned a few heads as well as mine!!!

Well... about me... 24, 5'4, mid/dark blonde hair, cuddly and cute... or so I'm told! Queen on the innuendo and comical scathing put down.

I'm a long term WOTW's fan... obsession began when I was but 5/6 years old... listening to my mother's collectors set records and hiding behind the sofa! (I couldn't look at the insert illustrations until I was much older... they scared me so much!)

Much later I read Well's novel and I now await with baited breath for the release of the movie...

I really haven't looked into much of the "hype" yet... I was trying to save myself (after an experience with LOTR... I find that staying clear of the teasers, e-gossip etc makes for a better initial cinema experience) but I simply can't do it!

Must know... must find out! Must know... must find out! Must know... must find out! Must know... must find out! Must know... must find out! Must know... must find out!

So that's me... how about you?

ClaireBear, what a fab name!

Erm, I'm 36, been a fan of WotW (the book) since I read my grandad's large print edition (poor old git!) at the age of 8 or so, I like the Jef Wayne album but I'm not fanatical about it (I know, I know!).

I've also been posting a lot on the Other Forum, where my anger with Pendragon became notorious, so I've since calmed down in a zen-like way.

Can't say I'm that excited about the Spielberg version (too modern, too many changes - or so it appears so far) but I won't get into that here; well cheesed-off with Pendragon for being so half-arsed etc.; won't go into that here either!

I like collecting (mainly via the Net!) WotW illustrations - the single best repository is here: Dr Zeus's WotW Illustration Repository

Sorry ClaireBear

I wasn't ignoring you, just been very busy recently

I'm 41 probably the oldest member on the forum, became a fan when I first heard Jeff's album back in 78. I enjoy Painting and being a member of this forum, until I joined I thought I was the only one who liked Wells' greatest book, but this place is full of nutters just like me
I'm also a big fan of audio books, very convenient whilst painting.

I'm looking forward to the film or films, if and when they are released.

I'm 34 and I live in Liverpool, England. I'm a playwright and screenwriter. My first introduction to War of the Worlds, was the album and then I got hold of the book about a year later back in 79. I have read it many times. I was looking forward to Pendragons version, but that was before I had ammassed the evidence for and against him and now I'm trying to forget about it. I wish Speilberg was doing the book but he aint but it may be a good film, and I may enjoy it.
The Jeff Wayne project excites me the most and I'm going into hybernation till 2007 so I don't have to endure the wait.
Saw the box set for the album at a second hand book shop the other week and didn't get it, weent back for it and it had gone, DOH!!!
I love sci fi in general, big fan of Doctor Who, (Not the new one) the Dune sreies of books including all the new ones.
Big music fan, Beatles, Bowie, Beach Boys, Brian Wilson, Dennis Wilson, Pink Floyd, Led Zepplin, The Who, Frank Zappa, Roger Waters, Blondie, Sex Pistols, to name but a few. New bands I've been digging are, Franz Ferdinand, Kasabian and Snow Patrlole.

Fave films are - "One flew over the Cookoos nest, Lord of the Rings Trilogy, Flash Gordon and King Kong."

I created the post Backward Interlects in Pendragon slot here on the forum which turned into an absolute monster. Most views and posts. And it was my first post too.

I have a beautiful daugter called Daisy.

So there you have it.
Im 17, to be 18 this year. my WOTW obsession has almost faded, but I hope something will give me the sparks. It began when I bought the game for ages ago, first the game and its music, than the book, then the old movie (I loathed it though, too high volume on the screams, and no tripods ) and now the movies this year. And yes, Im from Schweden (I like spelling it like people think we pronounce it). ^^

The biggest obsession must be the tripods, and some of the scientific possibilities mentioned in the book. Tripods pwnz all!
How to make a tripod:
1. Take a small wooden toy wheel (cheap in hobby stores)
2. Take three nails.
3. Figure the rest out yourself.
Pretty crazy.

Not a peep since April 4
She came from an off topic forum I posted in. Said she was a WOTW fan. I think she was used to forum's that have hundreds of posts per day, so this may have been a little quiet for her!

I thought I should, but I figured out that she probably takes it as a spam since she dont know who I am.

I think it is better that way. I tried to post on a Doctor Who Forum, it has thousands of members and it is relentless. Just finding the topic you want to see if you had a reply to is insane. Did a Dune one too and they are all freaks plus just to many and they are all in little cliks. This is my only one now.
But what did happen to Clairbear?
