Apparently Tripods the movie has been given the green light to start production and according to various movie sites all three books in the trilogy are to be made in to films, although i suspect that would depend on the success of the first movie.<br />Sounds interesting though. |

i seem to remember the books having a prequel book writted which set the scene a bit better, are they gonna make that? or possibly lump it into the first film? |

They dont mention the prequel but as i remember it was a bit like the hobbit is to lord of the rings, although with the tripods, a certain amount of explanation is going to be neccessary to set the scene. <br />Only the three books of the trilogy are mentioned and i would imagine that the last two will depend on the success of the first which as far as i can see will have limited appeal just like the tv series. |

Yes your right the prequel is called ' when the tripods came ' so i suppose that story really does need telling first but there is no mention of it in the press release so i guess they will just fold parts of it in to the first book of the trilogy .<br />Having said that i wouldn't be suprised if the project is waiting to gauge reaction to all the wotw stuff that is going on at the moment . |

i bet Tripods would get moved in setting as well, as it starts out in the prequel in Britain and moves into Europe |

Yup and the little village would be a dustbowl in the desert somewhere, the tripod cities would have macdonalds and the cap would be in the shape of a nike swoosh..... gosh i'm getting jaded. |
