Great stuff. I hadn't realized the Spiders were so much smaller than the Insects.

Bit of Dune influence with the worms there. You could nick a bit more from Dune and have the Spiders have a Messiah.

All great paintings. I love the dark ton3es of the first one. Lovely greens there.

I had read Dune a couple of years before painting this one and it must have been on my mind.
Yes a good idea about the messiah, they do have a spiritual leader she's the one being attacked in the painting 'Attack on the Leader'

'Stone Leopard'
I really enjoyed doing this picture, it was an experiment that turned out as well as I hoped it would (this doesn't offten happen :a009: )
I picked a load of leaves from my garden sprayed them with low-tack spray glue and arranged them on a clean sheet of paper, I then air-brushed black paint over the leaves, then I removed some of the leaves and sprayed dark green transparant ink over again and kept on doing this until all the leaves were gone. then I filled in the detail on the leaves and added the transforming Leopard (his hindquarters and tail are still fur). this is a technique I used many times after this.
The picture was probably insired by J. G. Ballard's 'The Crystal World' a very strange book

The ink well never runs dry here Lonesome!

The Cat ii great. Is it caught in the moment of turning to stone? Or is it more abstarct than that?

Lovely leaves, make me want to be a girraf.

It's turning to stone, it was just done as an experiment for the leaves but I had to put something in the forground :-k so I drew in the Leopard but I couldn't be bothered to paint in all the detail of the fur 8-[ so I went for stone :-k and then decided to to do it half and half.

Here's another useing the same technique, 'ROBO FROG' this was inspired by the Japanese artist Hajime Sorayama who is famous for his 'sexy Robots but he also does some very funny animal robots, so I thought I would have a go

Hello you nice people...I haven't been around for a while. I've only just got onto this thread.
I love all of your paintings Lonesome...especially the leaf thing you've come up with....very clever.

Unfortunately I haven't got anything available to match this thread at the moment, as it seems to be leaning towards the Fantasy genre.

However I know Loz is a Batman fan..so here's a Frank Miller inspired illustration just for him.
It was originally done for box art for a "garage " sculpt of Batman.

I know it's not in keeping with Lonesomes "Brilliant" illustrations shown here...but I suppose it's better than nothing.

Nonsense, there are many styles of art, I couldn't do the stuff you do with the same competence as you show.

Now get posting

 Sorry Loz...I forgot you're one of us touchy artists....Clowns give me the creeps , They should be relegated into the dustbin of history .

Nice drawings though....Although I think they would look better if they didn't have "superhero" physiques....Try making them look more evil.

A bit like "IT"

What would be the point in making them more like IT? That would be copying. My clowns are genetically engineered superheroes!

Anyway cousin It wasn't a clown, It was just a load of hair

I'm running out of horror pics so I shall go on to bizarre fantasy and just the plain weired.
I enjoyed doing this one for obvious reasons. 8-[ I always did like mushrooms

'REACH FOR THE GOLDEN RING'

This one was painted back in the mid 80s and was inspired by the lyrics from a Van Halen song 'Dreams'.

Beautiful Lonesome...I love the flesh tones on this.
Did it get used for anything commercial, or was it just for fun?
