No such thing as a Brontosaurus!

:? Did I spell it wrong? :-k because if I did, so have thousands of people on the net and all the books I have. :-s

No you spelt it right. However there is no such animal. Never was. The Brontosaurus was a mix up of a Sauropod skeleton with a different Sauropod head. The Body was an Apatosaurus and the head was a Camarasaurus. So there is no such thing. It was once one of the most famous dinosaur names I know but it was a mistake. Why do you think there wasn't one in Jurassic Park? I'm a dino nut so I learned about this years ago. Now you know too.

Here's a link about the botch up - http://www.angelfire.com/mi/dinosaurs/brontosaurus.html

 Cheers 'Loz' I never knew that, it's amazing to think Marsh purposely assembled the head to the wrong body. [-(

Anyway back to the nudity  sorry I meant art
This one was heavily influenced by the South American born artist Boris Vallejo, it was painted back in the early 80s and I used Sam Fox as the main subject.
This was done as an experiment, Oil Paints on heavy duty Pastel art paper.

You're very talented Lonesome...I love the Elephant , in fact I love all the stuff you're posting here.

I'm glad you didn't make the mistake of having smoke coming out of the dummy funnel on the Titanic.

Incidently,A modern sculpt of an "Iceberg" has been erected at the Pier Head in Liverpool, It just so happens to be right outside the "Cunard" building .

The "Titanic" was registered there, which is why the word " Liverpool" appears on the stern of the ship.

I don't think many people have noticed the irony.

  Thanks Loz, I take it you went strait to the picture and not read the text above, I said "This one was heavily influenced by the South American born artist Boris Vallejo" although they are spelt differently I presume they're the same artist.

Thanks Klaatu
I always research any subject I'm asked to paint and tend to put up a fight if I'm asked to paint something I know is not correct.

 That seems a little tactless but I suppose it was the 'White Star Line' not 'Cunard' who owned the 'TITANIC' so they can say "It's nothing to do with us"

I think I'm right in saying that the "White Star"line was in the same building at the time.

I don't think it's tactless because that suggests that whoever decided to put it there new.

I think it's just down to ignorance.

Once again though lonesome ...Great painting.

 Yes but at least I spell my SH*T correctly :a037: but I apparently can't spell "straight" #-o as you can't spell "You're"

:-$ Don't look now but I think 'Klaatu' spelt "new" incorrectly, I think it should have been "knew" :a037:

 Im sure you could have spelt "Makes" wrong as well, if you put your mind to it :D

Anyway here's another one with Ms Fox, and as with the Robo-frog picture I used the same style as Japanese artist Hajime Sorayma for the chrome effect on the Robot, I wasn't too happy with the dove though :-k

No, still can't do it. They just keep slipping back into place, the A. and the E. I mean.
