BEIJING, Aug. 25 -- Hollywood film "War of the Worlds" premiered Wednesday in Beijing.

The box office seemed not to be pleasing for only 30% of the tickets were sold for the premiere.

Male audience members preferred the film much more than females and the latter thought the fighting scenes were too bloody and thrilling.

Because of some violent scenes, the cinema gave out notice that children are advised not to watch the film unless with parents' accompaniment.

The film, directed by Steven Spielberg and starring Tom Cruise cost US $250 million.

(mmm don't remember it costing that much!!!)

I hope the Chinese people will enjoy it as much as I did! And I enjoyed it with much delight.

Oh yeah. I'm very fond of action and suspense in the movies. When the first Tripod in the Paramount movie fired its Heat-Rays for the First time, and the powering up of the City Annihilating Beam in Independence Day for example excited me a lot.
