Eve Of The War :: View topic

Anyone noticed that the tripods have a sort of kray fish or cuttle fish look to them? They look a bit like deep sae creatures, if you remove the legs.
They even have the glowing lights that deep sea animals often have, and a flurry of little whisker like things at the front, below what look like to beady eyes.

the biggest resemblance i noticed in the tripod bodies was to the design of the 53 machines to be honest.

it wasnt a strong resemblance, just reminded me of the 53 design in terms of the shape.

The 53 Martians are far superior in design to these new ones. You can get models of them. On pictures showing their full bodies. They sometimes have three legs, sometimes two.

I agree on that. In my head, I've come up with a design that hybridizes they '53 upper body (Triple-eye, thin three-finger arms, shoulder-brains) with the '05 lower body (Tripod legs that resemble the machines) The result has the mobility of the newer ones, but the same 'alien' feel of the old ones.

Well its no good in your head. I'd like to see it Yuri. Any chance I could clime in your head or better still could you draw it and post the drawing.

I'll see if I can get arround to that. I already have a rather nice drawing scanned of my Version of the fighting Machine, It's too large to attach here, and I can't find any immage sites to host it.

I guess the upper 'plate' section had the same shape, but I didn't realy see much connection to the '53s.

There are lots of pictures now, plus I've seen the film quite a few times now, and I don't think there is any resemblence to the 53 shape. They are very squid or cuttle fish like. Anyone else noticed the Aliens three little arms yet? What comes out of the hatch at the end is a leg.

The '53 alien had three coloured eyes (red, green and blue), while the Spielberg Martian is a more humanoid creature.

The movie showed them as biped aliens, some models made them Tripods indeed.
