Both times when we see a tripod taken down we see gabs of orange fluid go rushing out of the craft. What is this stuff. Why is their so much of it. Is it Hydralic Fluid. Is it apart of the critters life support? And the little alien that pops out at the end is covered in it so maby its like they naturally need to be in fluid. Like theye frogs or something. |

Here I think Spielberg has stuck close to the original book. Chapter 12 'What I saw of the Destruction of Weybridge and Shepperton' The tentacles swayed and struck like living arms, and, save for the helpless purposelessness of these movements, it was as if some wounded thing were struggling for its life amid the waves. Enormous quantities of a ruddy-brown fluid were spurting up in noisy jets out of the machine. Wells never said what it was either. |
