In theory we should never find out where they are from, if we can not follow their Journey here as we can in the book with the eruptions on Mars, then how can we know where they are from? Unless it is written on the side of their Tripods.

In the Pal Movie they don't know where they are from. They suspect they are Martians but they don't known as the cylanders are only seen once in our atmosphere.

So if they don't say where they are from then we can Imagine that they are from Mars. I would have popped an Emoticon here that was smiling, but these new ones creep me out. Bring back the old ones.

alas Loz it cannot be assumed they are Martians as the Paramount crew have been very specific in stating that they are definately not Martian, which they say as if theyve done something really artisitic and that they should be proud of rather than just ripped one more element of the story out to put in their own, thoroughly disgraceful, completely flat storyline.
