well the first one, gotta love the way Speilberg says its modern day in such a way it sounds like he's implying "dont worry we havnt followed the book or anything". ive got nothing against (decent) modern adaptations of WOTW but why Speilberg feels the need to trash every previous incarnation of the story that crosses his path i really dont know and the second one, in case we've forgotten what an idiotic man Tom Cruise is, he's been kind enough to remind us

It's just the seemingly typical Hollywood - and to a certain extent, American - way of thinking: old = dull, stale, boring, while new = exciting, dazzling & dynamic.
