well if its america and its getting invaded by aliens and its hollywood etc etc etc then we by god need a cheesy speech! Just like the president in Independance Day, and i have located the couple of sentances in the book that will no dount be transformed into the speech almost certainly to be delivered by Cruise, it occurs near the end of the book but that of course is no barrier to Paramount putting it in wherever they feel like:<br /><br /><br /><br />now thats a little bit on the intellectual side for Cruise and this production in general so what we're probably looking at is emphasis on the "were the Martians (or aliens in this case) ten times as mighty" etc etc and definately "neither do men live nor die in vain" can certainly be transformed into some sort of feel good possibly patriotic notion.

During the early days of the Iraq invasion, I read newspaper reports that some high-ranking American officers were sending their troops into battle having given them brief pep talks containing these actual phrases;<br /><br />"Let's get ready to rumble" and "Let's go kick Iraqi ass".<br /><br />I think the best we can hope for/expect in Paramount's WOTW is that Cruise will snarl "INVADE THIS!" between his perfect teeth while bashing a tripod with a crane.<br /><br /><br />
