LONDON (MarketWatch) -- BT Thursday announced a new video-on-demand film deal with DreamWorks SKG, for its next-generation TV-via-broadband service, BT Vision, which it plans to launch in Autumn 2006.
This agreement will bring Dreamworks current movies to BT Vision's video-on-demand service, the company said.
At launch, BT Vision customers will be able to enjoy a range of film, music and television programming all available on-demand as well as all the Freeview channels, plus interactive and communications and all available on the TV, with no compulsory subscription.
This deal with DreamWorks will provide BT with output from the producers and creators of such critically acclaimed and commercially successful motion pictures as War of the Worlds, and the Shrek franchise.
This agreement provides BT Vision with popular current films in the pay-per-view window and, through BT's existing deal with Paramount, an extensive range of older and classic films, all available for consumer purchase on demand.
