FROM : thewhir.com

February 8, 2005 -- (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) -- UK-based research and analysis firm Netcraft (netcraft.com) said on Monday that few Super Bowl advertisers' Web sites experienced any problems, despite the prodigious traffic generated by their ads on Super Bowl Sunday.

There was one exception, however. According to Netcraft's data, the Web site for the forthcoming movie "War of the Worlds" was performing at dramatically lower levels on Monday morning, suggesting that there was a surge of "morning after" visits.

The Web sites of other prominent Super Bowl advertisers, including domain registrar and Web hosting provider Go Daddy (godaddy.com), did not experience any significant performance problems. Go Daddy paid $4.8 million for two Super Bowl ads.

According to some estimates, approximately 145 million viewers watched the Super Bowl.
