I have just finished watching the 1984 BBC adaptation of H.G. Wells classic The Invisible Man.

Fantastic. . . . . It is one of the best adaptations I have seen, close to the book as you could possibly get it. There are a few minor deviations, but nothing worth even talking about.

Set over 6 episodes, 30 minutes each and comes with a bonus TV spot review from the BBC

Griffin is superbly played by Pip Donaghy who has this air of menace to him. The scene's of the 'Invisible man' talking to his old friend Dr Kemp while smoking a cigar and wearing a evening long jacket are excellent. Other effects throughout are superb and hold up very well for a BBC series of some 20 years old - the moment his experiment works upon himself in the attic room of where Griffin becomes 'invisible', the moment in the clothing shop of where he wraps himself up in bandages and cloths is a little creepy are just so well put together.

I cannot recomend this DVD enough, and this is the first time it has been released commercially.

So if your a fan of H.G. Wells or even of The Invisible Man, grab the DVD today, you won't be dissopointed.

Price £12.99 - available from many good DVD outlets, or why not try www.amazon.co.uk or www.play.com
