I stumbled across this entry on the Starship Modeler website from an online contest they had some time ago (2003). The contest theme was 'Departures... what might have been' and this particular entry detailed Humanity's early attempt to take the fight back to the Martians.

http://www.starshipmodeler.info/contest8/scratch_02.htm

Clever idea, and nicely executed, given that it's cobbled together from kit bits, odd bits (an egg & a fishing bob) & scrap.

Insert witty, yet philosophical remark here...

Nice, I like the way it says it's made of "5 left legs from AT-STs" does this mean there are 5 AT-STs(what ever they are) with only right legs? I find that very sad. :a009:

AT-ST = All Terrain Scout Transport, from Star Wars. The so-called 'chicken walkers' from Return of the Jedi (though one briefly appeared on Hoth in The Empire Strikes Back).

I wonder if the 'right leg only' AT-STs would hop to move around... :P

It would be a bit of a bumpy ride wouldn't it?

I imagine it looking like one of those wind-up toys of bouncing chicks (baby chickens, not the slang term for female humans), complete with the wind-up key sticking out the back.

 You can just imagine a storm-trooper climbing out every 30 seconds to wind it back up, shouting "hold your fire, just give me a minute, I'll right with you"
