Yes a classic album 'The Court of the Crimson King' I have a cover version of the title track done by 'Saxon' which is also very good. =D>

Working with the pencil is still my favorite medium, but it's a lot quicker on the computer, I haven't used a paintbrush for many years now.

These are great Loz, you get better and better with each picture, I especially like your Martian, it's just as H.G Wells described it, right down to the number of tentacles.
With teeth like that 'Kidder's' going to have Temporomandibular joint dysfunction problems when he... she.... it grows up :alien:
Keep them coming, they're great =D>

Thanks Lonesome. They are getting better. I'm surprised at how quickly the old skills are returning and at a better level than when I drew all the time, plus the actual material is better I think. I've started some more and will post them soon.

I'm glad you spotted the 16 tentacles, always been a sticking point of mine that. I think Kevin O'Neil did them with 16 in League of Extraordinary Gentlemen Vol 2. But it's rare. I love the martians in my avatar, but they only have 8. It was hard to do 16 though. I nearly did 8.

I'll do an FM soon and a HM. Though I'm not much kop at machines. I'll have to make them a bit organic.

I look forward to it.
organic is a good idea, if I remember correctly Wells described the FMs as having "sham muscles" and "sliding rods and bars for the leg joints rather than fixed, or semi fixed pivots" this sounds like he way the 'ULNA' and the 'RADIUS' bones in the forearm move to allow lateral movement of the hand, more organic than mechanical.
I know it can be very difficult to show the workings of a machine without using wheels or pivots, so I usually cheat and hide all the workings behind an armoured kneecap or a concertinaed rubbery covering
Good Luck

I'll give it a go. I've tinkered before. Your design is amazing. I think you really did something different than all the rest and really pulled it off. Your FM's look like they can move like the wind and turn and crouch and do all that they should.

I remember coming across one of your tripods just before finding this forum and was flabbergasted. It was the one seemingly moving fast over a field. I'd never een such an original FM.

I think that was the picture that made 'Lee' (eveofthewar) contact me and ask if he could use the image for his site, I joined a few days later.

Your welcome. I soon discovered others on the site and thought they were from a book.

IThanks. It's so long ago I did this one. About 16 years ago. I just drew the web in a green pencil crayon, but made sure it was constantly sharp I think. Kept stopping and resharpening.
