More like "Bloody cow!"

I bet those Green Peace guys are going to be on your tail for including a tortoise in your comic. They'll probably demand it be replaced with another human. The nerve of those guys...

 It was going to be just 34 Humans but I needed some other species to make the duck joke work, I thought about the dodo but they all died out a century earlier, it would have been good if the twins killed off the last Dodo.

Yeah I caught that cliche'd duck joke (That was your intention...right?).

I didn't know there were tortoises in Britain, are there really? I'm an American, so being so is rather inconvenient when you're an H.G. Wells fan. Like not being able to go to the Jeff Wayne concerts and all that other good stuff in Britain. I could go on and on about all this "I wish I were there and not here" crap but I'll stop, unless you're interested in that sort of thing, which I doubt and wouldn't blame anyone for dozing off while they're reading this.

:-k Well Tortoises are not native to Britain but there would have been some privately owned individuals as well as the ones kept in the Zoos. :D

The next episode

'The Mysterious Case of the Eighth Cylinder'

Is going to take me a little while, As there are several new locations, a new machine (Not of Martian origin) and new characters, some Martian some Human and some otherwise. :?

This episode has been a real pain in the arse, ](*,) I almost gave up a couple of times, but it was a scene I had envisaged when I started doing this two years ago, so

HOW GOOD ARE YOU ON YOUR H. G. WELLS?
Five points to anyone who can tell me where the name ‘Nebogipfel ‘ comes from? :-k

P.S. To any Americans out there; Yes I know the word Harbour in Pearl Harbor is spelt wrong, that was intentional, this is the English way of spelling harbour and how an English secretary would spell it.

I did enjoy painting Weena with her sexy smouldering eyes and at least now you know what happened to the Time Machine.

This section was going to be longer; showing a lot more changes outside as the cylinder rushed through time.

Does anybody recognise where the misquote on picture 591 comes from?

Umm that was confusing. Not sure what or how was confusing to me as I am immensely confused as to what I'm confused about. And now I don't like England anymore because they attacked Pearl Harbo(u)r instead of the Japs. Just joking mate. I can see that the Timetraveller has really bad taste in women. Who in the world would love a morlock? And I spy the Terminator in the third screen in the cylinder, picture 586.

Not sure who it is you're talking about, the General Whatever-his-bloody-name-is. I'm taking a wild guess: "The Days of the Comet"?

Well basically I just wanted to tie up some loose ends; Answer some questions that Wells left hanging, such as:
(1) At the end of The Time Machine, the Time-traveller never returned from his second journey, Why? Now you know.
(2) The landing site of the first seven cylinders is well known, it has always bugged me that we're not told where the last three landed. now at least you know where number eight landed.
I also know where the tenth cylinder will land but that's for later.

No not "The Days of the Comet", 'Nebogipfel' is from ................ well we'll see if anybody else knows first

OK, so he's been a bachelor for too long and his standards have slipped. :a009:

Planet of the Apes.

Give that man a coconut =D>
And as I don't think anybody is going to get the "who can tell me where the name ‘Nebogipfel ‘ comes from"? question, the answer is 'The Chronic Argonauts' by H G Wells.
Here's a link to the ebook if anybody wants to read it http://gutenberg.net.au/ebooks06/0602911.txt
It's an interesting short story about time travel, written a few years before the Time Machine and is set in a little village in wales, If McTodd still visited this forum he would probably know the name Nebogipfel from Stephen Baxter's Time Machine sequel; The Time Ships, Baxter named one of the Morlocks Nebogipfel.

I don't know if anything will come of it, but if I ever want to do a sequel to Invasion this is probably one of the starting points.

Late to the party as usual...
I caught the Planet of the Apes (mis)quote right away, but was rather surprised by the statue they saw! Just can't get away from bad old Stan, eh? :)

Wow, I've heard a few zany Pearl Harbor conspiracies over the years, but that one trumps all of them! (I can spell it 'Harbor' because I'm American, right? )

Insert witty, yet philosophical remark here...

don't worry about that mate, You're not the only one  I wasn't sure whether this episode was not appreciated, not understood or whether the usual people were all on their holidays. :-k but what ever it is the story will be back on track with the next episode. :D

You always need a character like Stan to through a spanner in the works.

The two strange men dressed in black who turned up on my doorstep last Monday told me if I spelt it either way again I would be disappeared, :-s I'm not sure what they meant by that :-k

Were the two men "from the government?"

I can account for at least a few of the people at scifishock who witnessed the update. Not quite sure how many, but at least a few.

They didn't say, but I think they were probably from the 'Bad scripts Police department' if the last episodes reception is anything to go be. :-k

Yes I saw 'mrgrotey' comments about the last episode. :a009:

I think it's just as well I don't charge for this or they'd all be asking for their money back.

Well it sounds like you had a classic Men In Black case, people who make you believe things and threaten you not to spread ideas such as...I mean they are good people and two are definitely not standing behind me and watching every word I type.

Are the two who are not standing behind you called Agent 'K' and Agent 'J' by any chance?
