Look forward to the next 11 eps!
One of the reps that visits us at work is a Scot and "mayther" is the closest I can get to spelling it the way he pronounces it.
Now on a more serious subject.
Lee the site manager has not said anything about renewing the contract for eveofthewar.co.uk this year so our time here might be coming to an end if it does I'll have to find a new home for this thread, 'Loz' has already suggested
http://forums.comicbookresources.com/forumdisplay.php?f=33
as a possible new home. so we shall have to wait and see what happens.
if the forum is coming to an end I hope we get a bit of warning, it would be awful if one day we just couldn't connect anymore.

(Finally I'm able to reply to this comic directly.)
All in all (as in, replying to every episode of the comic): BEST COMIC EVER SEEN IN ENTIRE LIFE. I don't know how you find the time to make all these. I've had a single piece I've been working on for ages and it's not even that great, just a simple tripod portrait. Every episode is a pleasure to read, as is the artwork. The first thing I do almost every day is turn on my computer, go on the internet, and first go here before anything else to see if the next episode is out. I don't even read it if it's a new episode without updating the scifishock forum about it first (You remember my relatively small bit of free advertising right? That's the only way I could think of helping.). So anyway, nice to finally "meet" you Lonesome.

Hey, you finally got here you deserve a medal for sheer determination, I know from reading your 'This is hilarious!' thread over on SciFiShock.com how long you've been trying to get here.
Thanks for all the free ads I'm sure it's helped 'mrgrotey' is now a member of this forum because of your free ads campaign.

That's good. Lemme guess: they'll have a name somewhere around "Happy Handler" or something like that. And maybe they're supposed to have 6 legs like in JW musical, but once again Bob screwed up with the flat-packs? Although I doubt you'll use that joke again...or is that what you expect me to think?

Well wasn't I wrong? Not a big deal anyhow, I didn't expect to be right.
But nice update, quick too. I like the '53 martian's appearance, that must be the shriveled up biped the humans found. Somehow I new all along that the human blood was just samples...
George and Herbert, I wonder which science fiction author you got those two names from?
Handling machines were the things I was waiting to see and I'm well satisfied, but in the book Wells said that it had a glass plate in front of the martian inside. No big deal really, I see that some things were made less accurate for the story.
And the "EEEEEK" is coming from the woman in the '53 film as well, right when she got touched by the puppet.
The buildings Stan is looking at I imagine are the houses under the tripod on the album cover?

George and Herbert, I wonder which science fiction author you got those two names from? You are the second person who has missed that, The shriveled up bipedal race the humans found actually appear in picture '053' of Invasion Earth, they were the galley crew who didn't survive the landing. The George Pal Martian was a scene I'd planed over two years ago when I first started this little adventure whereas the the naming of the kids was a last minute inspiration. Sadly I have no control over Mr Wells' interpretation of the facts, My depiction of the Handling Machine is taken from the one on display in the British museum. Yes they do look very similar, but I'll let you in on a little spoiler, they have nothing to do with the album cover they are in fact

Pure genius this latest episode. The rendition of the 53 Martian is brilliant. I love it's limpness. Very clever that. I assumed it was the Curate.
Handling machines are superb and remember Relyt that the human account of the attack is at odds with the Martian account and this is the Martian account. And that Journalist feller did get a few knocks on the head, as well as half starved and boiled. So who knows what extra stuff he imagined up in his delusional state.

I suppose the Martians' reported habit of drinking blood is going to be due to the fact that since the (little) monsters brought back far more than was necessary for analysis, it would be a shame to waste it.

I can't really comment on that at the moment, more on this subject in the next episode. Sorry
But what I will say is, Wells didn't described the Martians as drinking the blood but injecting it into their own veins through a pipette.
More Soon.

mrgrotey wrote: Great update yet again, who did you get to pose for the photo of the blood victim, really funny pics, love the tortoise one cant wait for more Thanks mrgrotey. The faces are ones I've used before, much earlier on in the comic; Richard Burton and the screaming girl, the defensive hands in front of their faces are mine, I just scanned my hands, cut them out and pasted them in front of the faces. mrgrotey wrote: oh by the way I keep seeing a sheep/cow shape in the center of the blood container Holy Cow! what have you been drinking?!
If there is a sheep/cow there it's not intentional, it's probably a reaction you get when you add Reptile blood to Human blood.
So stop drinking the Reptile blood, OK?
