What is that bug, actually?

Whenever you invade a sector with a larger number of ships than is allowed in one sector, some of the ships literally vanish, leaving the maximum allowed number left.

That's true. In the Southampton sector you can onle place the Formidable Class Ironclad. The Warrior and Invincible Class disappear!

It's really weird, and very annoying!!

It sure is. In London I have a similar bug. I can place a Formidable and Invincible Class Ironclad there, but the Warrior Class doesn't make it!

How unusual. It's weird how some units are allowed in some sectors, and others not, etc.

Yeah. But I don't really care. A tip for saving resources: Try to eliminate all units of which there are two of one type in one sector. Keep the units at your current Front Line unharmed, but this trick can really lessen your resource usage.

I use a similar tactic, but instead I actually destroy all of those with atleast one with extremely poor health, or a unit with 2 or less machines (for the Martians) or 4 or less for the humans. If none of these are present, I use your tactic, but that is for extreme measures.. I'm proud of my machines \:D/

The instructions on this game were a little hard to follow. It took me ages to get started but once I was off I cut my way across Britain as the martian hordes and marched right into London and cut it to peices.

I took some losses on the way. Got blasted by Ironclads and snuck up apon by subs and even wandered into mine feilds.

But the taste was sweet when I took London.

I found it much harder playing the humans, but I got there in the end. Went for better armour, and it paid off in the end.

I've got my own strategy. At first I invented the 'Martian Artillery' (the Bombarding Machines) to get to the lines of Lake District/the Pennines/Whitby. THen I invented better defensive weapons and more machinery, and I attacked when I wanted. But now I use the spy method to see what my opponent is doing, and I gave the Martians Control of building structures and defenses.

You can't beat that feeling of when you first take a big force into a human territory and run rampage through the streets.

It is always a little scary if you are the humans and the Martians make an attack, especially if they are trying out some new untits not in the game so far.

I jumped out of my seat the first time the flying machines apeard, bobbing and weaving about.

I love it if you manage to trick the FM's into walking over your mine feilds.

I jumped out of my seat the first time I encountered a Tempest in the battle field. Since then it has been my all time favorite machine.

Hehe..

Everyone has their different strategy. To be honest, I found it easier being the humans, because a) You don't have to conquer as many territories b) they have more defensive options and c) the Martian AI is as dull as dishwater!

Theres a mod somewhere on the net to improve the AI of the Martians. Also, theres another one to change the noises of certain machines when they walk and fire, making them more 'Menacing'. But I didn't really like this, for example, the Fighting Machine (1st Gen) was given a Xeno-Telepath noise as it walked...

I once tried the new AI out, but I was bewildered to see that the Handling Machines weren't building Copper Forges anymore! Luckily I saved a copy of the ORIGINAL AI and put it back on its place...

I didn't notice the Copper forge AI glitch?

Author:  oever532 [ Sun Aug 28, 2005 12:10 pm ]
Post subject:

That's because of the new AI. I let even there let the AI do the job, and, with the exeption of 1 CF in sector 3, I couldn't find a single CF at all.

Post subject:

Thats odd, something that they obviously missed out!

Author:  oever532 [ Sun Aug 28, 2005 12:13 pm ]
Post subject:

Yeah, but when I put back the original AI They began constructing the CF like mad!

Author:  Sam [ Sun Aug 28, 2005 12:13 pm ]
Post subject:

Heh, yeah, they were probably so low on Copper that they couldn't make anything...

Author:  oever532 [ Sun Aug 28, 2005 12:16 pm ]
Post subject:

But then the computer got stuck, and the game was suddenly copied from another! With as the glitch that ALL Human forces were totally wiped out! I had to start all over again...
