| Post subject: | G2 win rights for War of the Worlds |
FROM: Virgin.net G2 have secured a notable coup with the announcement that they have gained rights for the European disrtibution of eagerly anticipated forthcoming title 'War of the Worlds: New York Armageddon'. The classic H.G Wells tale of alien invasion and destruction, written in 1898, has enjouyed numerous re-incarnations on the big screen, with Tom Cruise only this year leading the cast of a Hollywood blockbuster version of the famous story. However, G2 will be bringing the story to life in video game form for the first time. Like the Hollywood version starring Cruise, the new game is re-told within a contemporary setting. The protaganist this time is a Law student currently enscripted in the National Gaurd as a Helicopter gunner. The game begins on the fourth day of the Invasion, with the player ferrying a Special Forces team into downtown Manhattan for a mission that will decide the outcome of the War.
