Post subject:  Dark Colony and an idea for a new game! :P
As we know... the PC version of Jeff Waynes WOTW is a doozy! :)
Martians from mars gettin' all raucaus on us! (Or us gettin' raucaus on these pesky humans depending on which side you choose to play)! :a016:

Then there is Dark Colony and Dark Colony (Council Wars). VERY similar game... This time it's the greys, al'a X-Files and Whitley Streibers Communion who have colonised mars that are getting all heavy.
Again, you can play on the side of the Greys or the Humans should you so choose. If you like WOTW this game is really worth checkin' out!!!

However, no martians on Dark Colony? It's set on mars, those tripods should be there! :P SO...

here is my idea for a new game, same game play, same genre, of the greys invading mars...
Martians VS Greys. (bit like Alien vs Predator only better). Basically combine the two. JW's WOTW vs Dark Colony. Greys against Tripods. Lots of possibilities for new music and remixes... Maybe have human intervention later in the game... What say you?

That is an interesting idea. The idea of watching the Fighting Machines, Flying Machines, Tempests, Bombarding Machines etc. having their payback on the Greys makes me enthusiastic. :D

heh... indeed. The greys in Dark Colony have there own technology too of course. Living land mines, teleportation etc! :)

If you look at the screenshots here you will see many strong simularities to JW's WOTW in Dark Colony, including claiming territory, general layout, weapons and vehicle building... Time speed control and the requirement for the element "Petra-7" not unlike the WOTW requirements for blood, copper and heavy elements...

...New greys troops arrive, much like the martian cylinders landing in WOTW... except they are transported down in classic Bob Lazar style grey's flying saucers.

The story for Dark Colony includes the Taar (Greys) invading Mars because there home planet was attacked by a plague... When the few surivors reach Mars they find that the human race has also hung there hat on the red planet seeking the colonisation and the precious Petra-7 element...

...I bet it also never occured to the greys and had escaped the short memories of the humans that the martians, capable of building massive tripods and destructive weaponry, already lived there. :shock:

I reckon the potential for combining these two very similar games is emmense! :P
