They never left! The common bacteria may have stopped the invading aliens in 1953, but it didn't kill them. Now, 35 years from where the classic original film left off, the aliens have been resurrected and are more terrifying than before. War Of The Worlds: The Complete First Season will feature twenty-two episodes presented in fullscreen and Dolby Digital Stereo. The box set is due from Paramount Home Entertainment on November 1st and will retail for $39.99.

Cover art now available

Been a while since I saw the original film and never saw the series but due to the amount of excitment to this franchise that has risen from me because of the latest film, I'll deffinetly be getting this. Its an old show so its most likely not going to be that good, a new one would be interesting but I look forward to this.

Shame it's only a region one release, I'll have to import it.

The acting is awful the stories are implausible (everyone seams to have forgotten that The World had been devastated by the Martians) and the SFX are crap. The only thing I did like about the Story was the way the Martians were revived, Their dormant bodys (not dead) were stored in steal drums and someone stacked them with radioactive waste, this killed off the bacteria that was holding them in their dormant state.

I watched both seasons of the show when it was screened in the Anglia region during the late 90s. Although I enjoyed some episodes, can't say I'm inspired to buy it.
