Auditions for Jeff Wayne's Musical Version of The War of The Worlds by Jeff Wayne, based on the classic novel by HG Wells directed by Paul Jackson Venue: Town Hall Theatre, 297 Queen St, Campbelltown NSW Time: 7:00 PM - 12:00 PM Information: Actors, dancers, singers! We need you to take part in what we are terming CTG Inc's first ever 'event musical', the Australian 'officially licensed' premiere of this sci-fi classic, based on Jeff Wayne's cult pioneering sound recording of 1978. You'll see the movie version by Steven Spielberg starring Tom Cruise about June! Make no mistake - while the story can be figured out by sitting down at your VCR and watching a copy of 'Independence Day', we have an exciting production planned full of experimental staging and lighting techniques. The music is also quite complicated (or so the MD says!) with difficult and challenging harmonies and high notes. We need 6 talented actor-singers (note the subtle arrangement of the words!), to fill the lead roles, a Richard Burton-esque male voice to act as the Narrator, dancers willing to become non-vocal (except for one word) Martians, and an assorted singing rabble to represent the fleeing populace.
