Martians At Fireworks Spectacular

Spectacular Fireworks Display Of Jeff Wayne's Martian Musical Arrives In The West Midlands This November

Martians will be invading Himley Park, near Kididerminster & Wolverhampton (West Midlands) in November when the stately home hosts its annual fireworks spectacular.

This year's event promises to be an out of this world experience for revellers when the fireworks will be accompanied by music from Jeff Wayne's Musical Version Of The War Of The Worlds.

The event on November 5th will tell the story of mankind's struggle against the overwhelming might of the Martian fighting Machines, with narration from the unforgettable voice of Richard Burton.

Gates for the extravaganza open at 4.30pm with the bonfire being lit at 7.45pm. The countdown to the fireworks will begin at 8.30pm.

Other attractions include the Beacon Radio Roadshow and Thomas Jones' giant funfair.

Also present will be the "official" Jeff Wayne's Musical Version Of The War Of The Worlds memorabilia.

Councillor Charles Fraser-Macnamara, Dudley Council cabinet member for leisure, said:

"With a story that has fired people's imagination since the 1890s and music that has bewitched generations since the late 1970s, we could choose no better theme for our Guy Fawkes 400th Anniversary fireworks display".

"Jeff Wayne's Musical Version Of The War Of The Worlds is back at Himley by overwhelming demand. It has been choreographed with state-of-the-art pyro-technology and wizardry and will undoubtedly leave the audience elated, buzzing with excitement and wanting more."

Entry costs £6 for adults, £3 for OAPs and children under 16 and under 5's getting in free. A special family ticket for two adults and up to two children costs £15. Car parking is £3.
