Not the cover, but it's common that the book is for sale.

The Tempest is an advanced assault vehicle, which carries two heavy Heat-Rays and a Canister Launcher.

Yes, it's called a book
I like the way it says "See larger photo" and it's the same size as the small one.

I see what you mean.
Quote:
This version is not actually by HG Wells as advertised. It is by David Maule. It's suitable for young readers, foreign language students or those with reading difficulties.

It's a heavily summarised version of HG Wells' original. It uses 2300 different words and the length of the story is 28,100 words (according to the back cover) - a slim volume.

I got this book by mistake - there was nothing to suggest it wasn't the original. So be warned!

Some people don't have any sign of good taste. [-(

Let's not be too harsh on the book itself; it's designed to help those who struggle with reading, or are learning English as a second language.
Both Penguin Books and Amazon could have been more descriptive about the product, though, to avoid the confusion that the reviewers had.

All that notwithstanding, I really like the cover illustration.

By the way, the larger pic seems to work now, but it's only twice as big as the preview pic. (Well, technically, that's larger...)

Yes you're right but back in 2005 it was the same size, honest. 8-[

And I still think they should say that it's an edited or an abridged version, Big and bold on the front cover.

Pfft! That's on the back cover. That's good enough!

(Sarcasm from me, just in case it isn't obvious.)
