OK, here's the upper part of the right leg (the left leg looks the same but it faces the other way ) the parallel lines are cut in, to help the plastic bend without breaking. |

OK back to the Hood, I have applied the Milliput, trimmed and smoothed it, the whole thing is about the size of tht last joint of your little finger the viewing window/dome is about the size of an orange pip. The compound eye effect of the window/dome was created by pressing a small disc of semi set milliput into the weave of a piece of cloth and then wrapping it around the rounded end of a pen, then when it was set I trimmed it to fit. |

It's great watching this come together. know you use models of your own design to use as reference for our paintings. Is this model bigger than your preious models? |

No it's a lot smaller. The picture below shows the difference in size, the model on the left is the old one and was too big and heavy to stand un-aided. the new one on the right is a lot smaller and lighter and should be OK. This is an old photo |

He just means he agrees with you. So back to the legs I have added Milliput to both upper sections of the left and right legs. I am making all the sections of the legs separately, although in the finished model all the joints will be fixed in one position. These parts are not finished yet. |

I still have a lot of the elaborate work to do on the upper parts of the legs, but I have decided to leave that for a time and concentrate on the middle section of the side legs, I only need to make one of these as I can duplicate the second from a silicon rubber mould taken from the master. |

Hey Lonesome. awesome stuff. how much would you sell a completed model for? Obviously I'm interested in buying one. They obvoiusly take a lot of time and then there is the fact that it is an origional peice of art so I don't expect it to be cheap. |

Are you trying to get me into trouble with Jeff's lawyers again, don't you remember the bother I had with "THAT" painting (Unnamed ship being attacked by strange machines with more than two legs and less than four legs from another world ) I had to rename it for legle reasons. Anyway, here is the Mid section of the side leg. you will see it is done in two different colour plastics, there is a very good reason for this. the red end had to be 7mm wide and the white end had to be 4mm wide, so I sandwiched 4mm white plastic between two sheets of 1.5mm red plastic. also we get a lot of scrap 4mm & 1.5mm plastic at work and that just happens to be the colours they come in. I haven't bothered posting a photo of the piston, it just a stick |
