She will be happy to know they come in the one foot model as well as the two foot model :-k
Anyway back to planet Earth.
This is going to take quite a bit of time, Milliput takes about three hours to set and I can only do a little bit at a time because it's so small and there isn't a lot of surface for me to hold on to without leaving fingerprints in the clay.
As with the Hood screen I've pressed Milliput into the shaver screen and curved it around an egg (don't worry it was free-range) when it had set I trimmed it to fit the back of the FM.

Ahh' Shucks you guys, you'll get me all embarrassed again  there I go, now look what you've done

Back to the basket, I have added the frame to three sides of the basket, just one side left to do, (you can't see it, it's on the other side of the model)
I think this is going to work [-o<

Come on the completion is in sight. Looking forward to seeing it all painted up. Or do you leave them as is, and only paint the silver on the actual paintings?

Oh no this is just going to be a static model, it's not for a painting.

I have made a Positive & Negative silicon rubber mould of the basket and produced a clear acrylic duplicate.
After I have trimmed of the excess material I painted the outside gunmetal-silver and then with a lint-free cloth I gently wiped the excess paint off the top of the raised areas leaving paint in the deeper areas, then I repainted the frame around the mesh and put it in place.
I think it worked out quite well although it will need some locater pins in the underside of the basket and holes drilled in the back of the FM to receive them. but that's a simple broblem.

The basket on my two foot model broke before I even got around to attaching it, so I new a mash was not going to work for this half pint sized model. so creating the illusion of a thin mesh was the only other option I could think of. 8-[

Keep it up! Try to connect the parts you already have for the model, so you have a start.

Loz is right here, I can't start connecting the parts together until I have made all the parts and know what position I want the legs and what angle I want the body and until I know that I don't know at what angle the hood will go. and I can't do any of that until I have glued all the body sections together and I need them separate for the time being if I'm going to take moulds so I can make the Handling Machine.

Would you consider making an articulated model?

I already have. my first model is articulated but the joints are not strong enough to stand without the help of a fine nylon thread suspending it from the ceiling.

I thought so because of all the different angles of your FMs in your paintings. I bet the one blowing up in the Thunder Child peice was hard to set up.

That's really incredible! thanks for that I had wondered how you'd used the model in that part of the picture. :P =D> \:D/

As you can see the model is no longer in tip-top condition, it spent several years in the loft and I think something heavy must have been put on top of it. this is one of the reasons I am remaking the model now and trying to iron out the problems I encountered with the first one.
